This 30-second PSA created by Smart Coaching & Research Center, pictures a stone grain grinder traditionally used for preparing Henna and flour in Bahrain wherein the top and bottom stones work together productively to create the end result. The PSA uses the stones as a metaphor for how men and women must be viewed equally and complimentary to create fair and democratic political processes in Bahrain. The images and sounds of the two stones working together is supported by a narration:
Man: Man and woman are two pillars of society. Believe in your mothers, sisters, wives.
Woman: Empower me.
Man: It is time to vote for women.
The onscreen slogan reads, Women Political Empowerment with the graphic of a red checkbox behind it. The PSA is directed at encouraging women to vote in the 2010 Parliamentary elections.
A workshop designed for leaders and activists working in Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) who want to receive training in how to direct, produce, and edit broadcast-quality Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that stimulate dialogue and civic engagement from the grassroots up.
