Description

The PSA starts with a woman seated at a desk, her back to the viewer, while writing letters with an air of urgency. A shadow of a man’s hand clenching a knife appears on the wall. Voices echo in the background, “We must kill her!” “We must restore our honor.” The shadow of the hand appears again and the screen goes to black. When it fades up again, the woman is collapsed over a bloody page. Her letter reads, “Dear Mr. President…” The message appears, “Palestinian Penal Code STILL Permits ‘HONOR CRIMES’ against women.” The words, “NO MORE EXCUSES,” turn from white to red. The message is intended to urge the President to take action, to eradicate articles of law that exonerate people from “honor crimes.”
